Mara Ruttger is a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist with the National Academy of Sports Medicine.  She graduated from Chaska High School in 2007 and Minnesota State University-Moorhead in 2011 with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and minors in Strength & Conditioning and Health & Medical Sciences.  Mara is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Health at the University of New England and expected to graduate in 2017.  She also holds certifications in TRX Group Suspension Training and Krank & Rowing. Her experience lies in one-on-one and small group training, boot camps, heart-rate based training, circuit training, strength gaining, muscle building and weight loss.  She has trained clients of all fitness levels ranging from 11-73 years old.  Mara was a four-year starting pitcher for MSUM’s fast pitch softball team and has almost 10 years experience in coaching youth softball.  Her passion lies in enabling people to change their lives through health, wellness and nutrition. She believes that fitness starts with you; no one can make the change for you, it has to come from within.  The first step is always the hardest, but once you make the commitment to yourself, you’ll never look back.  On June 20th, 2015 Mara competed in her first NPC Bikini Competition and placed 5th in both the Novice B and Open C divisions! Check out Mara’s video blogs on YouTube to follow her competition prep, healthy tips and more! When Mara is not training she loves to bake, find new recipes to create, take her dog for walks and play pool. Mara and her husband, Jesse, are expecting their first baby in early August 2016!
